Grade One students will learn to read Quranic text with the correct pronunciation of Tajweed (Makhaarij and sifaat), understand the meaning and application of isti’adhah and basmalah.
Grade One students will also learn the following principles of reciting the Quran with correct articulation, prolongation, merging, conversion, distinctness, and pauses taken from the rules of Tajweed from Al Qaidah Nooraniya:
Lesson 1 Arabic letters with Makhaarij
Lesson 2 connecting letters with different sounds/articulation
Lessons 4 – 6 vowelled letters and tanween (noon Saakin and Tanween)
Lessons 10 – 14 letters of qalqalah, idhaar. tafkheem and tarqeeq, ikhfaa and shaddah (noon saakin and tanween)
Sun and Moon letters
Grade Two students will learn letters of al ghunnah, types of iqlaab, rules of meen sakinah, idghaam, and its sub categories idghaam shafawi, ikhfaa shafawi and idhaar shafawi. In Grade Two, the following rules of Tajweed will be covered from Al Qaida Nooraniya.
Lessons 7 – 9 Alif, waaw and yaa Sageerah (madd sageerah) and leen letters
Lessons 16 – 17/last lesson: Sukun with madd, idghaam and revision
Lesson 3 huruf al muqatta’a
Laf Dul Jalalah. (uttering the word of The Magnificent)
Memorisation portion: Juz Amma
Grade three students continue rules of madd (asl and fari’) including types of lengthening, stops and pauses, rules of laam and raa, and hamza al wasl.
Memorisation portion: Juz Tabarak
Grades Four and above students will review basic rules and move on to advanced level of Tajweed rules.
Grade 4 – Juz Qadsami’a and poem Tuhfatul Atfaal
Memorize Poem: Tuhfat ul Atfaal
Grade 5 – Surah Al Baqarah onwards (Advanced level of Tajweed)
Grades One to Six students will also be required to memorize supplications from the YMOH Supplication books designed for each level in addition to their weekly memorization portion.
Portion: A Student’s portion will be limited to half a page per week (7 – 8 lines out of 15 lines). Students will be required to read his/her previous week’s portion first and then continue with the ongoing week’s portion. Finally the new lesson will be read with the teacher so that the student can prepare for his/her portion for the next class. Insha’Allah. Tests & Assessments: Both Oral and written tests will be carried out periodically in line with the exams held during the academic year. Students who have already memorized parts of the Quran prior to joining YMOH will follow the same plan of study.

Format of Quran with Tajweed class:
Students will be required to memorize a supplication each week in addition to their weekly memorization portion.
Lessons will be taken by the teacher on a first come first serve basis over a 1.5hrs session once a week. Students should attend the class as per their geographies, starting from the UAE with the exception of those who have been granted permission to attend late.

Students will be required to read his/her previous week’s portion first and then continue with the ongoing week’s portion. Finally the new lesson will be read with the teacher so that the student can prepare for his/her portion for the next class. Insha’Allah.
Tests & Assessments:
Periodically, the teacher will conduct a test. Students who have already memorized parts of the Quran will follow the same plan of study and will learn to identify the rules of Tajweed from the Quranic text by memory.
