Introduction

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

All praise is for Allah, the Exalted. May His peace and blessings be upon Muhammad (saw), his family and his companions (r.a.).

مَّنْ يُطِعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللّهَ وَمَن تَوَلَّى فَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا (4:80)

"He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah. But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds)" 4:80.

The guardian of a Muslim child knows the importance of teaching, and bringing up his children upon the pure Islamic knowledge, in order to fulfill his duty entrusted by Allah (swt). This handbook stems to facilitate the parents in honouring this responsibility, insha Allah.

This guide is aimed for boys and girls in the age group 5-12 years. The topics cover comprehensive areas of their everyday life and religion, and explained in concise and easy to understand terms. The goal is to nurture them into strong upright young Muslims, whose practice of Islam is based on knowledge and understanding.

Clear verses from the Quran & quotes from hadeeth have been taken as primary reference sources. Further information has been sourced from reliable Islamic website. To make it more applicable, several rulings have been taken from Islam Q&A and included in brief forms. Also included are some guidelines for guardians when researching for their children’s academic needs. The Guardian is also requested to refer to the full explanations of the rulings quoted in this guide, from Islam Q&A, to ensure a clear understanding.
